Aroop Bhattacharjee

I am a Registered Chartered Engineer in Australia and The Netherlands, with 30 years of Product Design experience. With this as my core competency, I work holistically with all kinds of companies and businesses to reduce their cost of doing business and increase their profit-margins.

I bring about not just physical, infrastructural and procedural changes to existing systems of manufacturing or running a business, but also affect a necessary mind-shift at key levels of the organisation to make the process successful.

• Developed software for multi axes CNC machining, from products designed with CAD tools

January 1991 – October 2008 : Mechanical designer, Philips, Singapore/ Netherlands/ Belgium/ Brazil

• Designed household Consumer Electronic products, using various CAD software tools

2008 – January 2011 : Program Manager, Philips Lighting, Eindhoven

• Lead transformation from traditional Fluorescent lighting towards LEDs platform solution, for new

January 2011 – May 2013 : Program Manager, Philips IT, Eindhoven

• Lead roadmap for IT applications on Idea-to-Market phase across Philips, to harmonize IT needs

• Analyzed products by tear-down and benchmarking, to propose “cost structure”, to reduce costs

• Lead “Restriction on Hazardous Substances” (RoHS) project, which is legal requirement in EU

March 2019 – March 2020 : Coaching LEAN and Six Sigma at VDL, Eindhoven; where the primary goal was to reduce product Lead Times and Cost, with short and longer term projects
